“Meet with the Wardens”

I’m sure this does not come as a surprise to you, but I don’t know everything. When you are asked to become Junior Warden you are not instantly cognizant of all human knowledge. On a more practical level, I am not an expert on every system or process related to the building and grounds of Immanuel Church. I must listen and seek the wisdom and expertise of those around me.

That is sound advice for any leader in any situation. And like most sound advice it comes from the Bible. Specifically, the book of Proverbs. Proverbs 11:14 says “For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers”. When we are discerning God’s wisdom regarding any issue we of course seek his direction through prayer. I have found that quite often through prayer I’m led to God’s wisdom through the wise counsel of the body of Christ; i.e. other Christian voices.

Deb Tomchek, our Senior Warden, and I would like to hear from you. What are your concerns? Maybe you have a suggestion for us or you’d like our opinion on a certain topic. What things do you see that are going well? Maybe you’re new and just want to meet to chat about Immanuel Church. Well, now you can have that opportunity. You can sign up for a 30 minute slot to meet with Deb and me. It can be just you or a small group of people.

If you are interested in arranging a meeting with us, simply email one or both of us or speak to one of us at church. From there we can arrange a time to meet with you or your designated small group. My email address is ankers4@comcast.net and Deb Tomchek’s email is dtomchek@aol.com.

So, we’d like to hear from you! Come meet the wardens!

Sincerely,

Scot Ankers

Junior Warden
