Recent Changes to COVID Protocols

As you’re probably aware, national and regional COVID restrictions are easing over the next several weeks. I’m very encouraged about these changes, and I look forward to how they will enable us to worship and spend time together with increasing freedom. With the rapid release of information, however, it’s difficult to keep up with the shifting legal protocols, local guidelines, and medical recommendations. We’re reviewing CDC and state guidelines, and we’re communicating with Gray’s Event Center regarding their expectations. At our Vestry meeting this upcoming Monday, May 24, we will discuss our next steps. As always, please let any of our Vestry members or me know your thoughts, questions, and concerns.

This Sunday, as we celebrate Pentecost outdoors at 10am at Lake Ridge Park, we will gather as planned, following the current guidelines:

· Limited seating will be available under the pavilion so we can maintain social distancing.

· Bring your own chairs and blankets, and arrange your seating six feet apart from others. Canopies will be provided, and spacing marked on the grass.

· During and after the worship service, wear masks if you are not yet vaccinated and less than six feet apart from others. Please be mindful that there are members of our community of all ages who are not yet vaccinated and remain concerned about the risk of infection.

· Bring your own food, drink, and games, and come ready to enjoy each other’s company!

Next week we will update you ahead of time with regard to any changes for our usual Sunday service at Gray’s Event Center.

I look forward being with you this Sunday, celebrating together “what was uttered through the prophet Joel: ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh…” (Acts 2:16-17).

Your Pastor in Christ,
