Member of Immanuel Anglican Church since 2022.
Q: Are you confirmed or willing to be confirmed or received into the Anglican Church?
A: I am scheduled to be received in early February.
Q: Which ministries have you served in over the past three years?
A: Men’s Retreat Co-Coordinator, Music Ministry and Sunday Men’s Bible Study.
Q: How would you describe your walk with Jesus Christ: A: I was raised in a home where Christ and Scripture were central. At the age of 11, I made a profession of faith to follow Christ. I have come to understand faith not as a momentary confession, but as a daily pursuit, taking up the call to follow Christ. My walk with Christ is sustained by scripture, prayer, and fellowship with the community of Believers here at Immanuel.
Q: What you would like Immanuel to look like three years from now and what steps need to be taken to get us there?
A: Early in my attendance at Immanuel, I remember the church being described as an “Outpost” for servicing the community. That vision resonated with me: a church that is both a place of worship and a faithful presence within the broader community. Over the next three years, I see Immanuel continuing to live into this calling by thoughtfully integrating and partnering with key stakeholders (pastor, ministries, and leaders) strengthening its witness through service, hospitality, and Christ-centered engagement beyond its walls.
Q: What do you want to accomplish as a member of Immanuel's Vestry?
A: I do not come to the Vestry with a personal agenda or predetermined goals. Rather, my desire is to serve as part of a faithful and collaborative body committed to providing our Rector with leadership, sound stewardship, and support. I hope to listen well and work alongside fellow vestry members to support the spiritual life, mission, and well-being of Immanuel and its broader community.

Q: How would you describe your walk with Jesus Christ:
A: In one way I have always known Jesus, but I was not always faithful until a broken engagement in 1995 which was my “coming home” moment. I have endeavored to walk with Him since.
Q: What you would like Immanuel to look like three years from now and what steps need to be taken to get us there?
A: I do not know. I am only filling this out because four different people have approached me about being on the Vestry.

A: I am confirmed.
Q: Which ministries have you served in over the past three years?
A: Usher and Safety/Security Team.
Q: How would you describe your walk with Jesus Christ:
A: I was baptized into the Catholic faith as a baby. My mother was Catholic, and my father was raised Lutheran. He was agnostic and believed that religion was man’s interpretation of God’s Word. He was a God-fearing man, just not devoted to any specific religion. I went to Catholic Catechism school up until 4th grade. My first memory of Jesus Christ was when we would have religion classes inside the church and we would say Our Father and Hail Mary prayers to a cross with Jesus nailed to it. I remember it affected me deeply as I had never seen a crucifix before. That is when I first was told that was the price that was paid to save our souls. I felt safe and blessed at the same time. My mother quit going to church when the Catholic Church took all the Latin language out of the services. I started attending church services again when I became a boy scout camp counselor at 13-14 years of age. I had several friends who were of the Mormon faith. The book of Mormon was put under my pillow at camp. I remember reading portions of it and asking questions about the Mormon faith. I never got to a place where I fully accepted their beliefs. In my early 20s I embarked on a two year
employment contract in Saudi Arabia that involved training Saudi students. They would bring their Qurans to class and this lead to several in-depth conversations of Islam and Christianity. That was the first time I heard that Jesus was a prophet, just not the chosen prophet. They believed the Bible had been corrupted by man and was no longer the true word of God. (Christ never rose from the dead). This experience only strengthened my belief in Jesus. In my late twenties I married my wife and we became parents to our son Andrew. We wanted to have him baptized and find a church we could start attending on a regular basis. Epiphany Lutheran, then Christ Our Lord Episcopal, and Immanuel Anglican is now our church home. My son’s renewed interest in God and church has brought me to a place of wanting to grow further in my relationship with Jesus along with my son and grandson.
Q: What you would like Immanuel to look like three years from now and what steps need to be taken to get us there?
A: I see that we have many fellowship activities designed to bring more families into the church. I would actively support those programs and look for more ways to help with these endeavors such as the chili-cookoff, trivia nights and family game nights. We have been blessed with a beautiful church that I hope we outgrow. We’ll have to stay on task as much as possible to get the building paid off and start planning for expansion as the church grows. I would like to see additional home groups added. There are several Bible studies and bible study/studies offered for both men and women. In my experience Home groups seemed to develop deeper bonds in the church family.
Q: What do you want to accomplish as a member of Immanuel's Vestry?
A: I’d like to add my voice to what I believe is already a God fearing, community centered, body of believers that seek wisdom and discernment from the Holy Spirit. In all that we do for the betterment of the church in God’s name in present day and future of Immanuel Anglican Church.
