Mission and Outreach Food Cupboard
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty

Each month Immanuel collects needed food and household items for our mission partner ACTS (Action in Community Through Service). The food cupboard is located to the left as you enter the storage room between classrooms 1 & 2.
Why does ACTS ask for small sizes of cans and jars of food? The reason is that each family receives a paper bag full of canned foods. All the cans must fit in that one bag. In addition to the bag of cans, families can receive bread, cereal, fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, milk, flour, etc. (if they are available).

For the month of November
we are collecting food for Thanksgiving.
NO GLASS CONTAINERS!
Canned sweet potatoes/yams, canned pumpkin or fruit filling, pie crust mix, evaporated milk, canned cranberry sauce, cans or packets of gravy, chicken or turkey stock, cornbread or biscuit mix, instant potatoes, stuffing mix and canned vegetables.

In addition to the foods we collect monthly, ACTS is always in need of the following items;
Canned and Dried Foods:
- Breakfast items(cold cereal, oatmeal, grits, etc.)
- 12 oz peanut butter in plastic container
- 12 oz jelly in plastic container
- Canned or dried beans (not pork & beans)
- Honey
- Canned vegetables(15 oz)
- Canned fruit(15 oz)
- Canned meats(tuna or chicken)
- Pasta
- Canned tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce in plastic container
- 1or 2 pound bags of rice
- Shelf stable milk
- Cooking oil(in plastic containers)
- Canned soup
- Ground coffee
- Instant coffee
General Items:
- Size 6 diapers and/or children’s pull-ups
- Wipes
- Soap
- Toothpaste
- Shampoo
- Deodorant
- Feminine hygiene products
- Toilet paper
- Laundry soap
- Liquid Dish soap
- Cat or dog food(wet or dry)
- Pet supplies
Foods ACTS will not accept:
- Opened foods
- Food in torn bags
- Food with freezer burn
- Repackaged foods
- Unlabeled foods
- Frozen food that has been thawed
- Dented or punctured cans
- Expired foods
- Homemade foods
