Volunteering
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to
serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
1 Peter 4:10
Immanuel gratefully depends on our volunteers, who generously contribute their time and energy for the good of the church body. However, we believe the decision regarding when and where to serve grows out of a desire to “give back” to God from a place of gratitude and not from a sense of guilt or pressure.
Rather than jump in to help, take some time to allow the Holy Spirit to nudge you in the direction He would have you serve. Philippians 2:13 says, “For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.” This means you can trust He will not only steer you, but will also equip you for the work you are to do.
