Dear Immanuel Family,

The following prayer by Thomas Merton, Pax Christi speaks my heart and is my gift to you.

O Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me, I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself.

And the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believed that the desire to please You does in fact please you.

I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire to please You. And I know that if I do this You will lead me by the right road, though I may know nothing about it. Therefore, I will trust You always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to make my journey alone.  Amen.

Love and prayers to all!

There is so much to thank you for in giving prayers and funds. I am waiting for the go ahead from my group. When I get that go ahead, I will need to give the folks in Indonesia a month to process my multiyear visa. That is, from what I understand, a complicated process.

I was so encouraged by the time I had with the people from Indonesia at the New Wineskins Conference.  They want to be sure I have everything I need in my apartment.  Their hospitality and kindness encourages me in this journey.  One of the priests there said that my stay will not be 2 years but 20 years.  That may be his plan but I doubt it is God's plan.

Love you all so very much.  Looking forward to sharing God's work in Indonesia with you.

Love and prayers to all!

Our Immanuel Family has many gifts and each is generously shared. One of the best gifts for me are the hugs. As I left church yesterday I just felt the warmth of all those loving hugs. You have given me uncountable blessings!

God's mission is moving forward.  The reoccurring donations and donations have added up to what is needed for me to launch. Praise God!  As Chris said yesterday I give heartful thanks for your generous contributions to God's mission in Indonesia.

I will let you know when I launch to Indonesia. It will be a bitter sweet flight.  Bitter in missing you and sweet in my obedience to God.

Bitter sweet, sadness and joy, with my heart filled with your love!

God Bless,
S.R.
