Corona Virus and How it Impacts Immanuel Anglican Church

Dear Immanuel Family,

We learned late yesterday afternoon that due to its concern for the coronavirus, Prince William County Public Schools is canceling, effective March 13, 2020, and until further notice, all extracurricular activities, including community use of building and grounds. That means that we will not be able to worship at Belville Middle School on Sundays – or any other day -- while that policy is in effect.

We have notified Bishop Guernsey and Fr. Tim Howe, who is serving with us during March, and we will be exploring options to continue worship through means other than meeting at Beville for the time being.

I know this is a major disappointment to all in the Immanuel family. We will be sharing updates as we develop an appropriate plan to continue our worship.

Bishop Guernsey has asked that we pray: Lord Jesus Christ, you are the Great Physician, who healed the sick, cured the blind and deaf and raised the dead, and who throughout all history holds dominion over disease and death: Arrest, cure, and eradicate the Coronavirus COVID-19, heal those who have been afflicted, and comfort those who have suffered due to this scourge; that those who suffer may know your healing heart and hand, that those who are anxious or burdened may know your comfort and your peace that passes understanding, that the watching world may know your sovereign authority, [prevailing] power, mercy, and grace, and that all may come to know and worship you; for you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

The Lord chooses those events He feels will bolster our faith. Immanuel has benefited from a myriad of such things during recent years and what we’re facing now will only add to the resilience of our faith.
