Hello, Immanuel. Mary Ellen and I have now been with you a little over a month. I find this parish in good spiritual! As we move from the wonderful ministry of the Kerleys to the unknown world of what happens next, I think we are moving along under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Yes, there are concerns about who the next rector will be. Yes, there are concerns about what we will do about a building for our property. But a well of good will (as Rich Garon describes it) exists among our parish community. We will do well, brothers and sisters in Christ, as long as we allow the Holy Spirit to guide us as to what's next.
Confirmation! Confirmation Sunday is set for January 12 with Bishop John Guernsey coming to confirm/receive new members. If you are an adult member who has never been confirmed/received by an Anglican/Episcopal bishop, this is your chance to formally come into the Anglican Communion. If you are a teen, this is your chance to be confirmed. Please contact the office to sign up for these classes. The classes can be done in person or online.
Next week, Mary Ellen and I will be out of the country (prearranged with the senior warden two months ago) from the 15th through the 22nd. NO ONE HAS PERMISSION TO GET SICK OR DIE WHILE I AM GONE. If you should need pastoral care, Deacon Sallie has been given spiritual
authority to assist you.
May God bless you richly.
Dave
