What a wonderful time we had together this past Sunday! The energy and engagement at the Mission Fair were vibrant and encouraging. I’m very grateful to Karen Oravetz, Jazmyn McGinley, and the Ministry Leaders for the organization, creativity, and investment they put into this event. For those of you who weren’t able to attend, take a look at the posters hanging in the nave, and consider whether there are ministries the Lord may be nudging you to join.
I also thought it would be helpful to provide you with the latest iteration of our proposed mission statement that I presented during my sermon:
We cultivate a Spirit-filled family that goes into our communities and the world to offer Refuge, Reconciliation, and Renewal, inviting everyone to experience life with God the Father in Jesus Christ.
The Vestry will finalize this statement in November, after which we’ll begin integrating it into the language and life of our church family.
Another important moment from this past Sunday was the offering of our pledges and membership forms to the Lord. This was a significant time of continuing the flow of relationship by giving to our Father in gratitude for all He has given to us. If you have not yet turned in your pledge cards and membership forms, please mail them or bring them into the office before the end of October.
Finally, there’s a delightful, worshipful surprise awaiting you the next time you enter our worship space. Thanks to a generous donation, we have new furnishings in our Nave and Sanctuary, including a beautiful Holy Table! At a future service we’ll decommission with gratefulness the Holy Table and lectern that served us well in the wilderness, and bless the new ones.
Please pray for the men who will be on retreat this weekend, and we’ll be praying for the rest of you who will gather to worship our good God at both services at their usual times this upcoming Sunday.
Your Pastor in Christ,
