This is a time of transition at Immanuel. We’re beginning the search for a new rector and we’ve undertaken a program with the goal to be in our own building at the earliest possible date. Either occurrence is critically important in the life of a church. Having both happening at the same time is a significant challenge. But this is God’s church. He knows what He wants for Immanuel. Praying that we can discern His will is our job. He is faithful to those placing their trust in Him and Him alone.
Discerning God’s will for us is a community effort. Accordingly, we’re launching a Listening Tour as an opportunity to share both your hopes and your concerns for Immanuel with your Sr. and Jr. Wardens, the Chair of the Search Committee, and Leaders of the Move Team. We’re very fortunate to have joining us, our Interim Rector, Bishop Dave Bena. We’ve set up three stops on this tour. Host addresses, dates and times are below. We hope you can join us at one of these stops. However, if you can’t, we hope you’ll contact us and share your views.
Stop 1: August 6, 7 pm, 13005 Aderman Ct. Woodbridge, 22192 (Bob and Margaret Mann)
Stop 2: August 15, 7 pm, 3731 Russell Rd. Woodbridge, 22192 (Bill and Kathleen Harding)
Stop 3: August 17, 2 pm, 11526 Gunner Ct. Woodbridge 22192 (Rich and Karen Garon) Childcare available.
The church’s leadership is facing crucial decisions and your input is vital. We need to listen to each other and we need each other’s help to hear what the Lord is telling us.
