Pastor’s Corner“Pastor Sallie’s Release & Commissioning”

During the second service this upcoming Sunday, I will speak these words to you:
Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20).
It’s been nearly 2,000 years since Jesus Christ gave this commission and yet 2 billion people from 5,000 ethno-linguistic nations do not have access to the Gospel. Pastor Sallie has been called out of this church to reach Indonesians with the gospel.
Brothers and Sisters at Immanuel, will you commit yourselves to support and pray for her in this ministry?
I trust you know the answer to this question: We will, with God’s help.
It’s at this moment that we will fully release Pastor Sallie from her responsibilities as Assisting Priest at Immanuel, and commission her as a Cross Cultural worker with Anglican Frontier Missions (AFM), whose mission is to “do frontier missions Anglicanly.” The Rev. Dr. Chris Royer, Director of AFM, will preach at both services.
This will not be Pastor Sallie’s last Sunday with us. When that final Sunday comes in late October/early November (God-willing), we will honor and celebrate her many years of living, loving, and serving in our Immanuel family.
Due to security concerns, we will not livestream this service. We will offer it instead via Zoom, a limited and more secure platform. If you would like to participate via Zoom, send an email to office@iachurch.org, and you will be sent a link ahead of the service.
Don’t miss this important day in the life of our church. Not only are we commissioning Pastor Sallie, but we also take another step further into our mission to offer Refuge, Reconciliation, and Renewal in Jesus to all ethno-linguistic nations.
Your Pastor in Christ,
